General FAQ
AUdacious City is a membership-based social community for neurodivergent and differently-abled young adults ages 18–35 who are looking for more opportunities to connect, build friendships, and enjoy life with peers. We create thoughtfully planned social experiences across eight unique “Districts”—from food, music, games, and the arts to movement, celebrations, theater, and local adventures. This isn’t a therapy program or a life-skills class. It’s a community built for connection
AUdacious City is designed for young adults ages 18–35 who can participate in community-based social activities with minimal support.Members should be able to participate safely in a small-group environment, communicate their basic needs, and manage personal care independently or with minimal assistance. We know every person is different. Our enrollment process helps us determine whether AC is the right fit for each prospective member.
NOAUdacious City welcomes neurodivergent and differently-abled young adults without requiring a particular diagnosis. We are much more interested in whether someone will enjoy and benefit from the community—and whether we can appropriately support them within our program model—than in a diagnostic label.
There is no typical AC event—and that’s intentional.Members explore experiences across our eight Districts: Arts, Theater, Music, Movement, Games, Culinary, Adventure, and Celebration. One week might mean making pizza together; another could be bowling, seeing a live show, visiting an aquarium, creating art, playing games, recording music, or celebrating birthdays. The common thread is simple: great experiences shared with other people.
AUdacious City starts with a different question:What would young adults actually want to do with their friends? We aren’t built around therapy, job training, independent-living instruction, or filling time. AC is intentionally focused on belonging, friendship, fun, and meaningful social experiences. Our goal isn’t simply to get people out of the house. It’s to help create the kind of social life every young adult deserves.
Membership is $195 per month for Founding Members.Membership provides access to AUdacious City monthly calendar of curated social experiences, with individual event registration and any applicable event costs clearly communicated in advance.Founding Membership is available for a limited time as we launch the AUdacious City community. Visit our Founding Member benefits page for additional details.
Not at all.Choice is an important part of the AC experience. Members can select the events that interest them from the monthly calendar, subject to availability and registration requirements. Some people may love theater and cooking. Others may be the first to sign up for bowling, gaming, or a ballgame. Members can build an AC experience that reflects their interests and personality.
AC events are intentionally structured to make connecting with others easier. Our team welcomes members, facilitates introductions and activities, helps keep the group engaged, and creates opportunities for members to interact naturally with one another. However, AUdacious City is not a clinical program or 1:1 support service. Members who require continuous individual supervision, significant behavioral support, assistance with personal care, or elopement prevention may need a level of support beyond what AC provides.
Attending an event isn’t the same as connecting at one.AUdacious City events are intentionally designed around connection, with opportunitiesto talk, discover shared interests, and build on connections beyond a single event.Because AC is a membership community, members see familiar faces again and again, giving relationships time to grow.We can’t manufacture friendship. But we can create the conditions for it to happen.
Start by joining the Audacious CITY Interest List.Beginning September 7, prospective members and families can submit their information to learn more about membership, upcoming events, and our Founding Member opportunity. Our team will then guide you through the next steps and help determine whether Audacious CITY is a good fit.Our first AUdacious City events begin November 1.
AUdacious City is a private membership community and is not a DDA provider. However, funding options and individual plans vary, and some members may have funding arrangements that could potentially be used toward community-based activities or services.Because eligibility and allowable expenses depend on each person’s individual plan and funding structure, AUdacious City cannot determine whether DDA funding can be used for your membership or events. We encourage families using DDA services to speak with their Support Broker, Coordinator of Community Services (CCS), or DDA representative about their individual circumstances before enrolling.
